* Stop All Soft Drinks

Each soft drink is 150 empty calories. Replacing just one soft drink per day with water will result in losing 16 lbs per year.

* Keep Yourself Busy

When there is nothing to do, food is a easy fix for boredom. Staying busy will help keep food off your mind.

* Get Rid Of Tempting Foods

There are those foods that we just cannot resist. So, make a list of those "trap" foods and keep them out of your house. If they are out of sight they will not be available when you get cravings.

* Watch Your Portions

The amount you eat is as impacting as the foods you eat. On average, if you eat 10% less, you will lose 20 lbs a year without changing the actual foods you eat.

* Exercise Calories

You have to do the whole hour of aerobics to burn off the 500 calories contained in a big piece of cheesecake. What is easier for you: exercising for 1 hour or not eating the cheesecake?

* Stop for a Breather

Before you are about to eat something you should not, pause and think. Is this really worth the extra calories and guilt. If it is, indulge. But if it is not you will have more willpower to proudly say no.

* Eat Slowly

The brain takes about 20 minutes to realize your stomach is full. Eating too fast does not give time for that feeling to happen.

* Don't Skip Meals

Skipping meals is never a good idea. When you get hungry from a missed meal, it is really easy to eat too fast, eat wrong foods and eat too much.

* Plan Your Meals

When you meal plan you will have the willpower to say no to foods that are not on your agenda. This will stop your mind from even considering the bad list foods.

* Everyday Engage in Physical Activity

Do not overwhelm yourself with an outrageous workout plan. Just use the stairs when available or do not worry about getting a good parking spot. Take advantage of walking when you can. Just 15 minutes daily of walking results in a 10 lb weight loss in only one year!
