10 Ways To Quit Smoking

One of the primary reasons for people's failure to quit smoking can be attributed to deeply repressed thoughts that may be hard to eliminate. Indeed, kicking this expensive and vile habit boils down to changing one's way of thinking. Allow me to share ten ways to quit smoking:
1. Read about the overwhelming hazards of smoking. Countless smokers fail to quit because they fail to realize the dangerous consequences of smoking. The worst thing is, most smokers are also familiar with the hazards of smoking, but they deceive themselves to think that they're not real - that is, until such time when they develop the particular ailment or disease themselves.
2. Remind yourself that you're not invincible. You're just human. You're no superhero with super-thick hide. Your system is susceptible to wear and tear, and smoking multiplies that base a dozen fold. You're not exempt from the dangers of smoking. You're no different from everybody: you're only human.
3. Know that you are stronger than how you think you are. With a little concentration, you won't have to surrender to the smallest temptation to smoke. If a stranger asks you to jump in front of a rampaging herd of elephants, will you? You're not a fool, right? So, you're not a fool to waste seven minutes of your life with every smoke.
4. Don't think of a cigarette as a reward. It isn't.
5. Realize that smoking doesn't make you attractive in any way. These days, when people would rather be healthy and live a long life, smokers are looked down on with pity.
6. Realize that though smoking may seem to help you relieve stress, it will come with a costly price. The perils of smoking are too dire to ignore. Would you rather enjoy a few stress-free minutes at the price of a lot of years subtracted from your life?
7. There's no rule that says you should smoke after taking a meal. Smoking won't remove the taste of food within your mouth. Want to get rid of this? Try brushing your teeth.
8. Realize that when you smoke in communal area, you're possibly affecting the health of anyone near you. Second hand smoke is just as unsafe as the puffs you take. When you smoke in a public venue, you become a walking personification of decay.
9. Realize that smoking doesn't help you lose weight. Cigarettes damage your arteries, not reduce calories.
10. Tell that smoking won't help you concentrate at work. It's just a mind thing. Everything depends on you and not what you depend on.
