As a former Windows user, I was pleasantly surprised to find that most of the software I used in Windows had a Mac version. This article highlights some of these gems I've found. This is the best Mac software for my daily work that I have encountered so far. I encourage you to try out this software for yourself. Some are free, but the rest all have trial versions available. Here is the software recommended. 1. Parallels Desktop. Recently Updated, this software enables you to run Windows on Your Mac. 2. Yummy FTP. This is touted as the ultimate Mac OS X FTP client and SFTP client software - excelling in speed, reliability, features, and ease of use. My testing bore this claim out. 3. Typinator. This is a simple application that helps you to quickly type phrases or insert pictures in documents. 4. Taco HTML Editor. I was initially reluctant to evaluate this software, as I learned that it had been free just a few months earlier before being turned into shareware by its developer. But after using it for a few days I was hooked by its performance and ease of use. 5. Skype. This software enables you to make calls cheaply to anyone worldwide. 6. Skitch. This handy screen capture and image manipulation software is amazingly flexible (it is used for all the screenshots I make for my websites), and perhaps more amazingly free! 7. RapidWeaver. After testing several other website builders, this has become my number one tool for creating websites on a Mac. 8. Marsedit. This is the software I am currently using to publish all my blogs. 9. Mail. This free Apple email client handles all my email faultlessly. 10. Jotter. This handy little app is for when I need to take the occasional text note. 11. FireFox My browser of choice, on both Mac and Windows. Safari comes a close second but I found that there are often times when websites do not work in Safari. 12. iPhoto. Apple's powerful built-in photo management and editing software handles all my photo editing and management needs. Well these are the applications I'm currently using on a nearly daily basis on my Mac. I'll soon provide an update to this article, with any new sofware that has made it to my "must-have" list.
