Bird Watching in Your Own Backyard If you like watching the fanciful nature, playing and fluttering of birds, you probably already know that watching birds in your own backyard can really be a joy. It's remarkable how many different kinds of birds you can observe. If you've never noticed that many birds in your yard, there are a couple of things you can try in order to attract them. With bird baths, different types of bird feeders and a great bird house, it won't be too long before you've got some special visitors. If you want to add a birdhouse to your yard, birds will potentially nest in it. Not only will they visit once in a while, but if it feels snug and secure, they might make it the place where they hatch their eggs. This would be a real delight since you may get to sneak a glimpse at the babies occasionally, or when it's time for them to begin flying. Not only is a birdhouse a lovely decoration for the backyard, but it is a place the birds will like as well. There are certainly a wide variety of kinds, shapes and sizes of birdhouses, and what you choose depends on individual preferences. You'll find that there are all sorts of different bird feeders out there, and most of them will fall into one of three categories. There are tube feeders, hoppers, and tray feeders. Tube bird feeders are cylindrical, with perches at the holes where the seed comes out. Tube feeders are good for different kinds of seed, as long as the hole is large enough for it to come through. Hopper feeders will be attractive to birds that are cautious of tray and tube feeders. Tray feeders are ideal for birds that are smaller. If it doesn't really matter what kind of birds visit your backyard, and you'd rather enjoy and appreciate whatever visitor shows up, you can purchase a general bird seed food. Most seed appeals to an assortment of birds, because it has several kinds of seed. If you would like to have a particular species of bird to visit your backyard, then you need to include a seed or food that appeals to that particular species. Bird baths are a fantastic thing to add to your backyard if you want more birds to visit. They love splashing around in the water, and if you keep it clean, that's even better. You can pick from the traditional bird baths, or you might get something different, like a solar powered fountain of some kind. Bird baths with moving water are more attractive to wild birds that would not usually visit a regular fountain, like robins, humming birds, warblers and thrushes. Birds particularly love moving water, and it will attract them easily. Bird baths are also amazing looking in your garden. There are a lot of people love bird baths because they cause birds to come closer than they customarily would. Bird baths are a good chance to take some fantastic pictures, and enjoy the company of the birds. Implementing these three things will make your backyard more appealing to birds. A couple of other wonderful things you can add are aromatic flowers, and nooks and crannies so the birds can hide. If they feel safe and secure in your yard, they're going to stick around.
