The gloves are a must for dedicated and serious players though as these allow them a firmer grip on the bowls and minimize any slip ups when rolling the ball. Most stores sell them individually and the cost will again depend on the brand and the make.

Bowling shoes are sold to players who plan to dedicate more time to the sport than just casual. I you're just playing every now and then, you can just rent bowling shoes instead of buying them. Bowling shoes are specialized footwear and are not really fit for casual wear.

So, exactly where do you find these specialty stores that sell bowling equipments? Malls usually have sporting goods store and they may have a small section dedicated for bowling. Sporting goods store that have their own stores outside malls, though, have a wider range of selection so you might want to check if you have one in your area first.

The Internet is also a very good place to check for stores that sell them. In fact, if you'll just do a search for bowling equipments, you will be brought to direct pages that sell them, and sometimes, at premium prices. Be careful with buying online, though, as some of the items may have defects that are not indicated in the description.
