Last year a large number of family pets ended their life in swimming pool tragedies. With the majority of people having outdoor lives in the summer months, this is not a surprise. It is only natural to take the dog or other pet out with you. We take so many steps for safety when it comes to protecting our children from the pitfalls of water danger, what are we doing for our capricious canine? When your dog falls into your pool, it is true that they will be able to swim for a little while, but if you can not help them soon enough, they will not be able to take it anymore and their chances of drowning increase. Is there a solution to prevent this tragedy? Yes, actually there is. You can have a little ramp in your swimming pool that will help the dog come out all by themselves. Such a ramp falls under the category of swimming supply for animals and is available in two sizes - regular and big dog. This is a safeguarded exit or entrance ramp from the pool to poolside that your darling can use effortlessly. To be effective and long lasting, it must be both chemical and UV retardant. If implemented right it will essentially be a plastic ramp with wing strips, nylon rope attachments and fasteners, and some D-Ring clips for attaching it to the side of your pool. You will have to give some initial lessons to your dog how to use this nouveau swimming supply. It has been shown that wild and undomesticated animals will instinctively understand how to use the ramp in the event of an emergency. But the more domesticated your dog is, the more he will need to shown how to use this device. Take your pet right in the pool with you, and show them how they can climb right out of the pool using the ramp. If they are initially unhappy with, put one of their favorite treats on the pool side at the top of the ramp. As always when you are using food to reward your dog, only do this once or twice or they will expect this every time they climb out of the pool. Of course, like all safety devices, such a ramp too is not 100% foolproof and you will still have concerns about pool safety. So invest in a life jacket. There are many pet stores online that offer all different sizes of them, and you can get them in a variety of colors as well. Dogs love to be in the water, but if they feel the least bit unsafe, problems will arise. There is no reason you can't protect them the same way you would protect your children. I recommend that you find out about this safety mechanism and other devices if you have your own swimming pool.
