Businesses have changed and one of the most common line you hear or see when you are shopping or you want to pay for a service that you have requested is "we accept credit cards". The line is heard from the people handling the payment department or you can see it printed out in a visible place in the store, or displayed if you are buying online. It is usually followed by the list of the companies or the banks related to that particular place where credit cards are accepted. What has happened with the times when you used to count cash, or when you used to fill in check notes so that you could make a payment or close a transaction? Well, since nothing stays the same in this century and technology develops, the financial system has changed too. Those times belong to the past and nowadays plastic is the power, no matter where you shop. The society we now live in tends to give up the cash as time goes by. This is quite a transformation compared to the past decades when applying for a credit card is not that easy and only a few establishments accept plastic to pay for your transactions. Now, some shops or big retail merchants issue cards offering rebates and discounts to their customers when used in any of the other store outlets. You can leave your cash at home or simply do not handle any cash at all. All you need is the valuable piece of plastic and you can shop anywhere you want. Business owners have realized that if they do not keep up with the technology, they may lose clients they already have as well as potential customers. Moreover, the online commerce has developed too, because the credit card offers the possibility to shop online. There are now a lot of stores where you can purchase the products you need. As long as you are connected to the internet, a few clicks on the mouse can result to faster and quicker transactions done without leaving the comfort of your home. When something good comes out in the market, fraud, which is always associated with financial instruments, mushroomed too. These fraudsters usually operate as online merchants who advertise the same line "We accept credit cards" but their main purpose is just to get access to a customer's personal information and card details. If such a thing happens, you may end up receiving a bill for very expensive products you have never bought, or for service you have never requested nor used. These types of online shops advertise products that will never be delivered to you. Frauds online are very frequent and it can be a shame for you to be their victim. Fraudsters are highly trained in computer handling, and they know exactly what to do to get your secured information. They do not care about the individuals they steal from, and they do not stop until your account is seriously charged; they even try to get credit card personal information by joining chat rooms. They have excellent electronic knowledge and they may even use special programs to get access to your detailed information about the credit card, during the so-called "payment" you make for products they advertise. All you need to keep in mind is to think twice and check the site before you make an order and a payment.
