The variety of t-shirts that adorn the backs of people, irrespective of age or sex, has to be seen to be believed. But the one that is singled out for special mention is what is called the "Designer T-Shirt". This remarkable piece of clothing is not a current fashion statement. "Ike" Eisenhower actually won the 1952 Presidency with the help of a custom made t-shirt that had the slogan "I Like Ike" splashed across it. These were a t-shirts, made with a precise intent as a particular point of time. Though they may not have been know as such, they were truly designer t-shirts. Relegated now to the tomes of history, they did make their mark when they appeared. There is no hard and fast rule that designer t-shirts should be created for a sole purpose and then fade away into oblivion, but can be designed even to satisfy ones whims and fancies. It can be verbal or graphical and is left solely to the wearer's penchant for it. It can be even used to express your particular point of view a particular subject. The design of custom t-shirts can be said to be the offspring of one percent inspiration and ninety nine percent perspiration - to fall back on a saying attributed to Thomas Edison, the famous inventor. The idea for a particular t-shirt may spring suddenly into your mind, that's inspiration; the rest is perspiration - hard work - hours and even days of trying to get the idea on to paper and create that perfect image. A twist of a use of a font, a color or shape. What if I have no talent for drawing? Maybe I should first learn to draw? In these day the use of computers is in one way or another - inevitable. Which program should I use? Where and How can I learn to use these program? Some of the most FAQs would be related to your aptitude for drawing - whether you have it or not? If not, should you first learn how? What are the design standards? What about computer handling? Where can I study its fundamentals? What graphic software would best suit my purpose? And, Who is going to coach me on it? On the face of it, difficult issues. But not difficult enough to throw your idea to the winds. The answers are simple. Help is always available on the Internet. Umpteen number of programs are there to assist one to give a concrete shape to your ideas. Simple drawing programs like "Paint" can get you started off on the basics of computer aided drawing and design. As one progresses, one can migrate to more sophisticated programs like Adobe Illustrator etc. You might even discover that you had a latent talent for drawing. If you do not have the capacity, the time or even the inclination to use them, do not despair, help is still available. There are Consultants who will give shape to your concepts. Their services can be obtained in person or through the Internet. A few head-to-head interactions with them will soon have your ideas given shape. It is that simple. The acquisition of a designer t-shirt now throws up another pertinent question. How is to be used? Well, you can selfishly keep it to your self or get a number of them for gifting to either your relatives or your friends. Specifically designed t-shirts can be used to endorse a particular product or even a specific cause. It may be given away as a corporate gift. It is only limited by your imagination.
