Spyware and adware are some of the ugly sides of the Internet. Adware are all those annoying programs, which bombard you with popup ads even when your connection to the Internet is unavailable. Spyware, however, is the real danger because it digs for your personal information and once it obtains data such as passwords, credit card numbers or the list of sites you have visited, it sends this data to its creators, who later make a profit from it. This is pretty ugly because it happens behind your back and you will hardly learn about the theft. Stealing your personal data is the worst damage spyware can do to you but it is certainly not the only one. In addition to stealing your information, spyware can drastically slow down the performance of your computer and as a result you can experience frequent crashes. Internet Explorer may also become irresponsive. The worst is that many conventional anti-virus programs are not designed to detect and remove adware and spyware. There are some anti-virus programs, such as the products of McAfee or Norton, which provide anti-adware and anti-spyware protection as well because they can scan for those pests, discover them, notify you of their presence and delete them. Do you experience frequent crashes or are you constantly chased by all sorts of ads, which appear from nowhere? If you experience any of the above, there is a risk you have caught spyware and/or adware and you should get a reliable program to remove them. You can get a free spyware and adware removal program but if you want a really reliable solution, youd better consider purchasing a paid program. One of the doorways through which spyware and adware sneak into your computer are free downloads. It is supposed that the programs you download do not have such nasties but sometimes, when you dont bother to read the license agreement, you just let them in. Yes, it is written in the license agreement that if you install the free software, you agree to install some additional components (i.e. adware and spyware) as well. Pop-up blockers help, especially against adware. The toolbars MSN and Google offer are among the best tools for blocking popup windows. Another way for adware and spyware to enter your system is when you click on a suspicious link, so avoid doing this as well. If you use the Internet a lot, you cant survive without a good adware and spyware removal program. These programs do not only remove the pests but they also prevent them from entering your system. Downloading such programs is easy and cheap but never get such tools from unreliable sites. There are many free anti-adware and anti-spyware programs on the Net, which can help you a lot in your fight with adware and spyware. These programs can also protect you for being infected, so they are really valuable.
