One great advantage of choosing traditional furniture is that you could mix and match different pieces of furniture of different period without any problem. Only, wood color should match and they should contain similar amount of ornamentation.
By decorating your room using traditional furniture and lighting, you would be able to take refuge from the harsh, bright lights and hard edges of modern life. Traditional furniture would provide lots of soft curves and old world warmth and provide that classic feeling.
The category of traditional furniture covers a number of centuries. Some of this traditional furniture would look quite formal with its massive proportions and rigid and elaborate detail. They may not create comfortable and relaxed atmosphere which we would expect from these furniture. This furniture should have more curves to create the proper ambience.
Therefore, to create that classic look in your room to provide that relaxed atmosphere, you will have to use traditional furniture and lighting to get the desired effect.
