All medical professionals and practitioners will understand the importance of a good lab coat. Especially for those who are involved in doing research that often uses a wide variety of chemicals, many will find that a good lab coat is vital in ensuring you do not get harmed by any accidentally spills of substances that might be physically harmful.

Even though the common perception of lab coats is that it must be white, you will be surprised to know that today, lab coats come in many different colors. This is extremely important, as doing so prevents any type of contamination from occurring. Also, it will prevent anyone else from getting harmed by and toxic substances that might be found on your stained lab coat.

If you find that your lab coat is severely contaminated, it is extremely advisable for you to discard them properly as soon as possible, depending on the severity of the chemical substance contamination. When discarding your heavily stained lab coat, you should also remember to dispose of it properly, along with all the other chemically sensitive or toxic waste should be. Your stained lab coat should never, in any case, be mixed with other trash, as it might cause someone physical harm, or react with other toxic substances unintentionally.

Another thing you will need to note, is that it is highly recommended that you wear your lab coat properly at all times. This usually means that you have your lab coat fully buttoned up or zipped, and always have your sleeves fully extended and covering your arms.
