Ignatius Piazza Stands on the Side of Common Sense in Gun Control Issue

Ignatius Piazza has long been considered the man to whom Americans could turn for information, news and briefings on firearms and gun training. Being the founder and director of the nation's largest firearms training school, Front Sight, Ignatius Piazza is in an excellent position to speak out and be heard on issues concerning gun ownership, gun control and gun training in America. Ignatius Piazza does more than just talk out, however, he makes a strong, logical case for his side which explains why gun control is a bad idea, and why gun ownership (with gun training) should be sought and encouraged in America.

According to Ignatius Piazza, the man in charge of the gun training school which delivers firearms training to more students than all other major shooting schools in the nation combined, gun ownership is a part of American life that must be not only respected, but expected and demanded by every American citizen. Ignatius Piazza and Front Sight make a case that the only time that Americans need fear firearms is when firearms are outlawed. For when all firearms are outlawed, only outlaws will have firearms! Imagine the ideal scene for one of these pundits who so strongly assert that gun control is the only way to prevent violent crime, murder and armed burglary: a world where law-abiding citizens were neither armed nor equipped with gun training. In this ideal world where laws prevented law-abiding citizens from possessing firearms, and therefore firearms training, only criminals would have firearms. And like it or not, firearms aren’t going to go away just because a few city, local or state laws get passed. In fact, even if a national handgun ban was put into effect, the black market would be flooded with firearms for sale which - guess what! - only criminals would have access to.

The idea that laws can help to prevent violent crime through controlling weapons is ridiculous: only law-abiding citizens abide by laws, and if law-abiding citizens can't carry firearms they can't protect themselves against those who do: criminals.

Ignatius Piazza and Front Sight don't make this argument to scare Americans into thinking that there is no hope for ever getting out of the problem that is guns. Ignatius Piazza and Front Sight merely want to strike home with the fundamental fact that gun control will only beget further gun violence. Gun training, however, could turn the tide. Firearms training is an aspect of American life that goes surprisingly un-grasped by the majority of citizens.

When in America's admittedly brief history has gun training and gun ownership not been a way of life? Had it not been for the (albeit illegal) firearms training and possession of firearms by the colonials in the 1770's, the United States of America would never have come to existence. The gun training that those colonials received was often by necessity alone: hunting and self-defense, but it was enough.

America is founded on firearms training and gun ownership, whether or not gun control pundits agree. Law-abiding citizens cannot be safe without full gun rights, and will never be safe without gun training.
