The hotels in the state are welcoming the process of certification so that they can better streamline their processes to become proficient at the conservation of energy and water, recycling, reusing and generally conserving our resources for a more eco-friendly business. There are even hotels that have gone above and beyond certification to be awarded leadership levels in the state run California Green Lodging program namely the Radisson Hotel at the Los Angeles Airport and the Kyoto Grand Hotel & Gardens downtown. This means that they have attained the highest level of program participation of meeting all program criteria and have an environmental policy in effect. Their enhanced amenities like the swimming pools, hotel shuttle services, and guest centered services have not been affected by the adjustments made to become more eco-friendly but has even made them more conscious of being more responsible of the guest and environment alike.
