Join the Travel Revolution!

On Thursday, June 19, a mix of young entrepreneurs, professionals and travelers packed The City Tavern Club in the heart of Georgetown to celebrate the unofficial launch of Viscape.com, a Web 2.0 social marketplace where you can buy or rent vacation properties online. Kicking music, great drinks and crazy contests helped turn the event into the hottest party of the summer.
The introduction of Viscape by founders Caroline Allison and Dan Engfer was followed by an exclusive preview of the hilarious Viscape video series "I Wanna Viscape." Later in the evening Dan Monson, dressed as a scuba diver, blew the costume competition away.
Partygoers also had the chance to browse rental property reviews at laptops set up in one of the adjacent rooms. Some took the time to register for accounts and write their own destination reviews of vacation spots they had been to, in return for free drinks and the chance to win a trip to Key West or Belize as part of Viscape's "Be a Travel Writer" contest. The drinks seemed to spark some creativity, as some guests kept returning to write more reviews—and yes, in return for more drinks.
The "Be a Travel Writer" contest is still open and submissions are encouraged. So come on! Write a review! Or use the site to list a property, or plan your perfect vacation together with family and friends. Join the travel revolution. Become a Viscaper!
