Learn Front Page By Watching Not Reading

Microsoft FrontPage, also referred to as Microsoft Office FrontPage, is a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) HTML editor and web site administration tool for Microsoft Windows operating systems. From 1997 to 2003, FrontPage was offered as part of the Microsoft Office application.

As a WYSIWYG editor, FrontPage is designed to hide the details of the HTML code from the user, making it possible for novices to easily create web pages and sites. Learning how to use Microsoft FrontPage, therefore, doesn't require previous knowledge of the code required for producing web sites.

Classes for learning how to use Microsoft FrontPage range from in person workshops to web-based videos. Many colleges and universities offer courses in the Microsoft Office application, including FrontPage, as part of their computer information and technology curricula. In addition, continuing education programs, weekend colleges, and even distance learning divisions of community colleges and education programs offer one and two-day classes in FrontPage. These, of course are offered for a price, but allow the user personal interaction with an instructor.

For those who can't afford or simply prefer not to sit in a classroom, learning how to use Microsoft Front Page can be achieved through online tutorial programs. Many web sites, like LearnFrontPageNow.com, offer instruction on FrontPage. The user can order books with step-by-step instructions, or detailed courses on CD and on DVD, which include reference material along with the training. Some of these sites require substantial payment while others demand only payment of shipping or are completely free.

One of the features of FrontPage which makes it novice-user friendly is the use of automated web templates. These templates allow the user to add animated buttons to their pages, from which a multi-level navigation system is created behind the scenes. Pages can then be connected to each other without having to know HTML code. Other HTML based software programs don't include this feature, which is another reason learning how to use Microsoft Front Page is a good first step for beginning web designers.

Many websites offer tutorials for learning how to use Microsoft FrontPage online, as downloads and on CD. These classes are often free, or simply require a small fee, such as payment of shipping. Other sites, like LearnFrontPageNow.com, offer FrontPage comprehensive courses on CD and on DVD for a fee. Books on FrontPage, too, are available for purchase. These in-depth training materials vary in length and depth, and can cost mere dollars or more than $100.00.

Along with online training courses, some sites offer video demonstrations for learning how to use Microsoft FrontPage. These demos can assist novice web designers, but also offer some advanced instruction. Demos include information on managing the web site remotely, and using interactive buttons to brighten the site.

One reason learning how to use Microsoft FrontPage works well for novices is the availability of automated web templates. Inclusion of these templates makes it simpler for users to create web pages and to add content. As animated buttons are included
