Maternity And Infant Wear...should It Be Bundled?

I sell bundled products....I sell a unique humor line of maternity and infant cartoon wear that match; parents can match infant for that perfect Kodak moment. I'm proud of it, and I think I should be. It's different than anything on the market.

In the landmark case in which Netscape went after Microsoft for bundling Internet Explorer was the first I'd really heard of a complaint against bundling. One of the most important aspects of creating a product is learning to bundle it. It's taught in every major business school.

Though bundling has been with us since early times, it was the auto industry that made it popular. As it evolved over the years it started adding spare tires, air-conditioning, and now even GPS as standard inclusive with the price. That is simple bundling. It helps sell cars and saves the consumer time and money so they don't have to buy those added features elsewhere.

Another example of bundling is when vcr players added remote controls.

Everyone from major business newspapers to legal scholars and professors all thought the suit was a bit silly. But Netscape pressed on.

A PC without an operating system, for instance, is like a fish without a bicycle (with apologies to Gloria Steinem..her quote). But I digress.

For the life of me I still never understood why Microsoft had to bend and compromise its product. But it did. The case dragged out, I believe because it was high-profile and technology-based. It is as hard to explain technology to an attorney as it is law to a computer scientist.

By bundling my maternity and infant wear, and matching gifts (and even coffee mugs), I give the baby and parents an opportunity to not only express who they are, but do it together in a way that is so much fun to be captured in video and photography. So I am very proud of bundling my funny baby clothes with matching funny dog sweaters, coffee mugs, gifts, collectibles, and even humorous maternity wear.

Speaking of taking pictures, I've never bought a camera that didn't have a lens attached. (more bundling).
