Melaleuca's Motivational Myth

One of the biggest lies shared amongst MLMs, Melaleuca included, is that the reason a distributor isn't successful is because he or she, "just doesn't want it bad enough." Nothing could be further from the truth! Your Melaleuca upline wants you to believe that "belief" is the thing that's going to get you from "zero to hero" in your Melaleuca.com business. Getting sick and tired of being sick and tired is one thing, but it truly does not mean or guarantee success.

So what do you do to get yourself pumped up? You know, get your belief level to an all-time high? I'm guessing you do exactly what your Melaleuca upline tells you to do. Which is listening to every motivational CD available and attend every training and seminar possible, including the annual corporate "rally of all rallies" convention event that cannot be missed, even if you can't afford it. You're told that missing this would actually be more expensive to your business in the long run because you'll be so emotionally pumped up and on fire afterwards, that your Melaleuca business will literally blow up.

Take a step back and listen to this nonsense! Is this how things are really supposed to work? Is fanatical motivation really the missing ingredient to success? I would answer absolutely not. If you've been working your Melaleuca business for six months to a year and you're still not seeing any kind of results, something is seriously wrong! And I can guarantee it's not your motivation or belief. The very fact that you've hung in there for that long shows your level of determination.

The motivational lie is so easy to use. The honest truth is that no matter how motivated you are, there's always room to do more and be more. On top of that, many of the people you're asking about why success isn't happening for you are in the same boat as you. They also will be answering you and feeding you the same answer they were fed. They believe in the lie and what's worse, they'll get you to believe in that lie too because they honestly don't have an answer to your question.

You can use a shovel to dig the foundation of a house, or you can learn to use a bulldozer. Network marketing isn't as hard as people make it out to be. The real problem is that they are given improper and virtually useless tools that don't bring in the results. What Melaleuca distributors need to do is learn how to build their business correctly. They need to learn how to use the bulldozer!

Do you understand what I'm trying to get at? The more inefficient your system/tools are and the more ineffective your approach is, the harder you're going to have to work to get results. And because of that, you have to make up for it big time with motivation. When you're using the right tools for the job, you're seeing steady, consistent progress and things are trucking along smoothly, motivation becomes almost an afterthought.

Let me ask you this: If you had highly-qualified Melaleuca leads to talk to every day that understood what you do, expressed an interest in learning more and in some cases, were even looking forward to speaking with you, do you think that motivation would be a problem for you? I would say absolutely not.

You really need motivation when you have to remind yourself why you're building this business. You know how heavy the phone can get especially when you get rejected by your family and friends time and time again. When they start to avoid you, you can always take out your Melaleuca goal statement and read it to pick yourself back up!

Your business is due for a change! You can get to the place where you will begin to see the results that you've always dreamed of. You'll be able to stop worrying about how motivated you are and you'll apply your time and effort into learning the right way to market your business. Here's what you need to do. You need to concentrate your efforts looking for people that are looking for what you have. You'll have to learn how market your products correctly so that the marketing system automatically generates sales for you. Then you can spend time mentoring people who want to be mentored. That's when the Melaleuca business starts to really get good!
