Online Photos

A photo is worth a thousand dollars. This is derived from the age old saying the a picture is worth a thousand words. Though some pictures are worth a thousand dollars, they surface once in a blue moon. But photos are really worth a few dollars depending on their appeal and quality. All one has to do is to locate a location to sell them and also the right people who want them.

Photography is entertaining. Either as a hobbyist or as an amusing pastime, dabbling in photography would have resulted in the accumulation of a sizeable quantity of snapshots. If you get paid for these photographs, then photography becomes even more amusing. And getting paid one can, thanks to the Internet. With a little sweat and little time spent on your part, photos can be sold and in time one could develop into a semi-professional or with more sweat and more time, even a professional.

Selling photos online is something anyone with a lot of photos can do. There is no bar on age, sex, physical ability or background. It is not necessary that you should be a professional. No one starts of as a professional. They get there by dint of hard work and dedication.

The best way to sell photos online is to adopt the "Stock Photos" line of approach. There are other methods like selling "Products" and offering "Services" online, but they cannot strictly be taken as selling photos.

"Products" and "Services" are indirect ways of marketing photos online. Prints, postcards etc. come under the category of "Products" and Consultancy Services, where expertise is offered constitutes "Services"

Thus the only actual selling online is "Stock Photos". This is called stock photos because they are already in your custody or stockpile, ready to be sold. There are two ways to sell the stock that you have. One is to displaying the photos online let the buyer make the approach and the other is that you go to the buyer.

By involving yourself more into the business on hand and going to potential companies that publish cards etc., the photos may be sold directly, all online of course. Your active participation is mandatory here. The clientele has to be searched and found and the best quality photos sent to them for approval. The more number of contacts that your photos reach, the more is the probability that a sale could come through.

That's about it. Sounds simple. Upload photos to a stock or microstock agency, sit back and wait for the money to trickle in or jump right into the fray and sell them directly. The second approach is for a dynamic and aggressive person. You can, of course, try both methods to see which works out better. Sell photos online, nothing attempted nothing gained. One of the photos might turn out to be a bonanza!
