Portable diesel generators can give out between 1kVA to 10kVA of electricity, while the larger ones used in homes and offices have a capacity of between 8kVA to 30kVA.

All around the world today, more and more power plants, offices, and homes are using diesel generators. New uses are also being developed for these devices. In ships, for instance, diesel generators are used to power and propel the ship with electricity. Since the generators do not need to be installed near the propellers and can be placed at a distance, they make give the ship more flexibility. Available space is also efficiently used because of their size. Aside from this, diesel generators are also used in many other industries.
