Photography, whether practiced as a hobby or as a profession is fun. The fun would be more if you could use of these photos to make some money, slowly and steadily, without interfering with your current work timetable, and relatively easily. All that is needed is a digital camera and a fast broadband Internet connection. If you already have both for quite some time, the matter becomes even more simpler as you are bound to have accumulated a sizable number of photos during the course of your random ramblings or during your family vacations. To sell photos all you need is a fast Internet connection. It is of course understood that you have a stock of photos. If not take your camera out and start taking photos. Another way to augment your collection is to get the photos of your friends and acquaintances. The more the better. It doesn't matter as to what photos you have for practically anything can be sold on the Internet. A lot of patience and fortitude is the main requirement. On way of selling photos is to participate in photo competitions. These competitions are held all the year round and information on them can be readily obtained from the Net. The more prestigious the event, the more famous the Judge the better the exposure for you photos. It is immaterial whether your photo wins a prize or not. Even if the judge stops and stares at it for a just a little longer than the time he spent in front of the other photos, might get it sold. The easiest method is to use Photo Stock Sites. These are Web Sites where you can sell photos. They are called Photo Stock Sites because photos are stockpiled on the site for marketing purpose. These sites are simple to use and all the necessary instructions required are invariably available on the web site itself. Finding photo stock sites is very easy and a search of the Internet will yield an considerable number of them. The more the photos uploaded, the more the chances of clinching a deal. Alternatively, you could build your own site. If you have the necessary know-how, that is, exposure to SEO methods and coding techniques, then you can build it yourself. This also requires some time and some dedicated effort on your part, but once constructed, what photos you keep on the site, how long you keep them etc., is your decision. You own the site. But all the other logistics will have to be taken care of by you. Patience, resolve and dedication is required. An admirable way of selling photos, without using the Internet and which is applicable for those purists who still swear on their analog cameras, are photo competitions. Some more effort has to be put in by you in that you have to get the photo printed, find a suitable frame, hunt for the places where these competitions are going to be held and get you exhibit entered. Though the exposure is limited, it has its plus points. Whether your photo wins a price or not, droves of people do come and see it and photos do get sold here too. Better start with the Stock sites at the initial stages and then graduate to one's own web site after gaining some experience. So, if you want to sell photos, try one or another or all of the methods given above and wait and see.. If your stock is limited, augment it with photos from you friends and acquaintances. Don't wait. Happy Selling!
