It's just as easy to have negative thoughts as it to have positive ones. That simplistic statement was coined by a great professional boxer named Sugar Ray Robinson. While the statement may seem obvious and over simplified, the truth is that many people find positive thinking to be a difficult chore. Filling the mind with negative thoughts is similar to a disease. Those thoughts eat away at the mind and the happiness in life and they gain more and more strength the longer they are in the mind. For people who choose to think negatively instead of positively, it becomes almost second nature to find themselves in the midst of horrid situations. The realities of life become so ingrained in negative thought that they often find themselves lost to the world of happiness. Self-help books will tell you that thinking negative brings about negative energy. There are several studies out now that show that positive thinking can "manifest" positive outcomes. If you are looking for ways to increase your happiness and improve your quality of life, then you must first determine if your thought pattern is part of the detriment to a better life. When life hands you lemons, do you make lemonade or do you complain about how unfair life is? If you are the person who finds the glass half empty instead of half full, then keep reading and hopefully you will find a few answers to help change your habit of negative thinking. Once a person allows themselves to open up and release those negative thoughts positive thinking is easy. It is often fear, yes fear, that holds us back in the life of positive thinking. When we think positively about situations it often sets the mind up for failure. These failures are more difficult to deal with than the day to day lives of negative thoughts. At least with the negative thoughts, we know what to expect. In order to move from a negative mind set to a positive mind set, all holds on life need to be lifted and confidence in who we are and the abilities we have restored. The other trick to positive thinking is to remain positive when you do not get the results you want. When you do not get the call back for your dream job, believe that there is another opportunity out there that may be even better than the first. Trust the positive thought that great opportunities will continue to present themselves as long as you continue to expect them. It is easier to see a great opportunity when you are looking for it than when your thoughts are caught up in the opportunity that you just missed. Our lives are so very full of things that are positive, we often become blinded to their presence. If ever someone has said the phrase, you don't know what you have until it is gone, this is exactly the thoughts that should drive your positive thinking. There are so many things in life that are positive achievements. Children, home, job, fitness, all take time and hope and they are all positive and thus hold the positive energy needed to break that negative cycle. The energy needed to move from a negative thinker to a positive thinker is all there for the taking. Dread is the biggest energy drainer in the world and when a person chooses to stop dreading things in life and start using that spent energy on achieving a positive lifestyle, the sun will open and the horizon will seem to go on forever. Life is all about our minds and the path our minds take to positivity. When we choose to live in the negative lights of life, the drain on our souls is evident in the lack of positive thoughts. Opening up our hearts to positive thinking will improve life and the chance of meeting all our positive dreams.
