The Pros and Cons of Different Folding Table Top Designs

So many designs to choose from, no time to study them? Here is an overview of the different folding table designs that are available.

There are four main designs:

b High-Impact ABS

pros: Light, tough, impermeable, variety of colours

cons: Damaged by heat, can burn, expensive to buy

c Aluminium

pros: Fireproof, strong

cons: Heavy, high cost, poor finishes

d Chipboard/MDF

pros: Smart finishes for office setting, inexpensive

cons: Heavy to move and easily cracked

The choice is yours, but the vast majority of folding tables are now blow moulded polyethylene, because they are cheap to manufacture and very durable.

However, it is important to check the guarantees offered with each design, as an indication of the durability of that design. If the manufacturer qualifies the design to just cover manufacturing defects, that means that the table is more likely to fall apart.
