Interested in aromatherapy? Then consider lavender oil, made from the lavender plant, as a beneficial aromatherapy skin care product. How can lavender oil help you? It can de-stress you and mitigate depression through a number of uses. For example, you can put some lavender oil on a tissue and place on a night stand while you sleep so that you inhale its fumes. Or you could use an oil burner so that the fumes surround you. For Use as Aromatherapy Bath Oil As opposed to a good number of essential oils, you can put lavender oil directly on your skin as an aromatherapy skin care product as it won’t distress your skin. For example, place it in a warm bath as aromatherapy bath oil and your skin will directly absorb it while you breathe it in as steam. A Salve for Burns: Lavender Oil as Aromatherapy Body Lotion An aromatherapy skin care product for burns? It sounds like it violates common sense given that oil is flammable. However, lavender oil can reduce burn pain and aid healing. If, like me, you sometimes burn yourself on the stove, simply place a few drops of lavender oil on the burn, apply a bandage, and the pain will soon cease. Always remember, though, that serious burns require medical attention. Lavender oil is never a substitute for a doctor! There’s a nice story behind the discovery of lavender oil as aromatherapy skin care product for burns. In 1910, Rene Maurice Gattefosse, a perfumer, was working in his lab and burned himself. In a daze, he reached for nearby lavender oil, only to feel the pain fade and see the wound, over time, quickly heal. So look online for lavender oil – its healing properties can be accessed through use as an aromatherapy body lotion or even as aromatherapy bath oil.
