If you work in a service industry I’m sure you’re aware of how important experience can be. If you’ve simply gone to someone in a service industry to get their services I’m sure you’ve stopped to consider what kind of experience they have in their field before handing them your business. Service industries are based completely upon a person’s ability to handle the tasks given to them. This isn’t like a product where the item itself is what people are after. If I hire a plumber I want to be sure he’s going to do the best job possible. When I take my car into a mechanic I need to know that he knows what he’s doing. The more complex a job becomes the more information I need to know. Think about an accountant handling your finances. Now I certainly need to know a lot about the person and their ability to do their job before I’m going to entrust any of my money to them. The burden rests on the shoulders of the people in these positions to comfort people and assure them that they’re in good hands. Booklet printing is an effective way of getting that message across, because you have the time to talk about your experience and show people just how much you know about your field. There are two different primary paths you can take with your booklet printing, and you’ll have to decide yourself which one will suit your needs best, or to find a good combination of the two. The first deals with biography. You let people know where you come from, what you’ve done in the past, and everything else about how you got to where you are today. This helps people see the kind of experience you have through your career path. If you’ve worked at a variety of well-known companies people can see that, or if you have a lot of education from a prestigious college they’ll take note of it. The second is to focus on explaining the field you’re in and what you know about it. This deals less about yourself and more about showing people just how much you know. While it might go into some technical detail, a person will walk away knowing exactly what you can do, and what kind of knowledge you actually have. Which one works the best? That’s going to be up to you to decide, and often people use a combination of the two. Neither one is perfect alone. Letting people know about your past doesn’t ensure that you know what you’re doing, and talking too much about the details can be a little detached. Find the right balance between these two for your booklets, and make sure people know exactly how experienced you are in your field. You can’t expect someone to trust you if they don’t know how good of a job you can do.
