The best places in Texas to find repo homes and how.

It is as simple as it sounds, for the most part. The cities in Texas have the highest concentration of population and, thus, the highest number of repo homes available on auctions and forced sales. Collin County, the Dallas-Fort area, Austin and Houston have shown great increases in the number of foreclosures and repo homes over the past two to three years. So if you’ve got a soft spot for the heart of the country then a repo home in one of these locales is worth looking into.

This cowboy state is, in a surprising twist, famous for its wineries and vineyards. And with a diversifying economy that includes oil, agriculture, space and aeronautical ventures and a healthy tourist industry, there is plenty in Texas to recommend it to most anybody. With repo home rates rising by up to 20% in some areas, there are plenty of properties available for cheap in Texas.

Attending a bank or government auction (or two!) should give you a fair idea of what’s available. And with market rates dropping around repo home properties chances are you’ll find a great deal in Texas even if you don’t win it at the auction.
