Everybody should realize that a minute consists of sixty seconds. But according to IDT lots of telephone card corporations only give customers 36 seconds in a minute. According to the assertion done by some IDT corporation, lots of telephone card corporations are taking part in unfair rivalry. As some companies-providers of prepaid phone cards resorted to the unfair rivalry procedures, IDT/UTA (Union Telecard Alliance) decided to exonerate their privileges using the legal ways. It is difficult to realize, but some of dishonest card developers give only about 60 percent of time, which were prepaid for. Recently Total Call International and IDT/UTA was charged with illegal actions by the group of telephone companies that included IDT Telecom Inc. and LLC. Earlier IDT/UTA began legal procedure against the group of accused for three times. Epana Networks, Inc., Dollar Phone Corp. and related companies, and Locus Telecommunications, Inc are also attracted into the assize. IDT/UTA's lawsuit against the remaining defendants is still continuing in federal court in Newark, New Jersey. Recently I have found an article on one of prepaid telecom related blogs where a softswitch producer showed his system. From now on any client will singly determine the length of the minute, not to pay for the minutes he doesn't use. Furthermore, they mentioned that it is rule on all calling card platforms. I couldn't believe that it was true. But now when I saw IDT communique, I realize that they were credible right. So next time you get a international phone card for $20.00 with 2000 minutes and you realize that it is so good to be true - maybe it is! Please, choose the phone card thoroughly to evade the possibility of being deceived. Customers will be given the units, they lost during the unjust actions, as a bonus. IDT/UTA thinks that if all the accused agree with putting into operation the new rules, that would be better for them, as the judicial authority would try them more softly. They should also agree to provide industry good usages and standards which defend consumers of pay before hand card services and that establish a level playing field for all corporations that promote, and supply telecommunications services for, pay beforehand cards. The mechanisms, that will precisely control all the actions connected to the pay beforehand cards, will be designed by these corporations. The parties also agreed to undertake exertions to promote such standards amid all prepaid card business and to promote self-sufficient monitoring of correspondence with such standards.
