Being scared of a certain thing or event is natural for the human body- it's a safety mechanism that can keep the average human alive longer. But some odd phobias exist, and flying is one of them. A phobia of flying can exist even without one knowing about it, as it can be an underlying condition. Consult a therapist to ensure one's mental state is prepard to fly for the first time, or to make a returning trip.

Those who have special needs for the flight when concerning food should make arrangements before taking the flight. Some, such as the vegetarian, will require a specific meal that is free of meat. Others will require kosher food. Whatever the case may be, not all airlines can accommodate a request while in a flight, so its best to call ahead and make sure meals are made accordingly.

It's a good idea to make the experience more comfortable by taking any type of pillow or rests for one's neck and back. If the device is electronic, one may have to check with the airlines to see if it will be approved for on-flight travel.
