The Beauty of Making Tealight Candles Relaxation comes in different forms these days, but most demand a heavy price. Perhaps the most simple and inexpensive way to relax is by using candles. Candles are not seen just as objects providing light but soothing objects of pleasure. Many candles offer such delight like scented candles, sand candles, fake food candles, multicoloured hand rolled ones and tealight candles. Of this tealight candle is a favourite among many as it is suitable for accent lighting and heating scented oil. It is a candle encased in a thin metal cover and liquefies completely while lit. They make any bubble bath or garden setting complete. Tealight candles are simple and easy to make at home. The apparatus needed are a smelter or double boiler, Stainless steel measuring cup, Popsicle stick, Scissors, Funnel and a lid off a box to place your tea lights in. Tealight candles can be prepared with an Aluminium Tea light Cup, Paper core pre tabbed Wick and Candle Wax. Firstly place the cups in the box, and close the lid to avoid overflows prior to pouring in the wax, as other wax stays within the lid. Place the tabbed wick in the middle of each of the cups. The wick is tied to a piece of metal to stop it from floating to the top of the molten wax and burning before the wax does. The tealight candle cup is made of bendable aluminum and therefore should be carefully handled. Trimming the wick properly can help the candle give a larger flame. Next melt the amount of wax you wish to make candles out of with the help of the double boiler and scoop it in a stainless steel measuring cup. Hold the funnel over each cup and pour the wax until it is almost level with the rim of the aluminium tea light cup. The funnels are a neater and cleaner way of pouring the wax without the risk of staining or burning oneself. Make the desired amount of tealight candles you want by filling the required number of cups (with the wick in the middle). Now allow the wax to cool completely. The wax may shrink when it hardens therefore you might need to fill the top once it is dry. Allow it to cool once again till the extra wax becomes hard enough. Do not remove the candles from the cup once they are done. Adequate safety measures are required when one makes candles at home. Though tealight candles are one of the easiest to make certain first aid measures are essential to keep one from burning. Don’t leave flammable material nearby and wear protective clothing. Never leave burning wax unattended and always make it in a ventilated area. Tealight candles have become increasingly popular and are available in different shapes and designs too. A new patented design slopes inward toward the wick, forcing the wax pool toward the wick increasing the burning time. They are also available in transparent plastic cups or stained glasses with multicolour thrown. Many of them are scented with rare fragrances and are decorative pieces. Though small in size these candles an adorable sight to see and ideal for special occasions.
