Varicose Veins: What Causes it?

Being some of the most painful, and unsightly veins on the human body. Varicose veins are often found on the legs, but are not restricted to that area of the the body either. You need to know what causes the veins to appear before you seek treatment. Each persons case of varicose veins is different too. The heart bumps blood through arteries and is returned via veins.

Veins carry the used blood back to the heart so it can be reused again. These vessels work for us all throughout our whole lives. Veins can lead to conditions and diseases like varicose veins.

Several factors come into play when it comes to getting varicose veins, things such as hormonal abnormalities, extended periods of standing or sitting, genetics, and even pregnancy all are factors. Its important to find out what is causing your veins to appear before treating them so you can find out if something bigger isn't going on in your body.

Obesity is also a cause of varicose veins. Due to the strain that is put onto the legs from the extra weight they appear. One needs to keep a average body weight to lessen the chances of obtaining varicose veins. Salt intake has been known to increase blood volume, and body weight as well.

With a daily exercise routine to keep your body toned and the blood flowing good and a healthy diet you can lower the chance of getting varicose veins.

Another cause of varicose veins is deep vein thrombosis,it causes the veins to look like their twisting and bulging, and it also makes them a dark blue or purple color as well. Aging also plays a role as well, as you age your veins lose their elasticity and of cause the end result is the pools in that blood pools in the veins and they become big, which is varicose.

Overexposure to the sun also can cause these veins. A lot of sun exposure could result in the veins appearing on your face. Heredity also plays a vital role too. Since women with a history of varicose veins in their family do suffer a higher risk of getting them over other people.

By cutting back on the harmful exposure to the sun, keeping up a normal exercise routine, keeping your body weight done, and maintaining a good balanced diet, you should be able to keep the causes of varicose veins at bay.
