What Melaleuca Distributors Must Hear Before Any More Recruiting

One of the biggest lies being taught to business owners involved in Melaleuca is the crazy idea that everybody they meet is a prospect. Upline distributors will often make comments like, "This is such a great opportunity that everyone will want this" or they might also say directly that anyone you talk to can be turned into a prospect.

The reality is, lies like this are being taught across the network marketing industry. Lies like this have Melaleuca distributors talking to anyone they can about their "gem of a business." It's amazing that Melaleuca, Inc. actually believes that this is an effective way of bringing in more distributors into their sales force!

People wonder why network marketing has such a negative reputation. I can't imagine why. Maybe it's because these pre-historic methods of recruiting have placed Melaleuca the wellness company on the same level as that one bum outside your gas station peddling "real gold chains." It's hard to take him seriously when he's offering you a "piece of jewelry" for only twenty bucks. The same can be said for Melaleuca business owners who try to recruit anything that moves and breathes into their down-lines.

In reality, you have to get it clear in your mind that not everyone will be your prospect! That might seem like a hard pill to swallow, but it is the truth! Everyone doesn't have the skills or motivation to become a business entrepreneur. Not everyone is looking to change their financial condition and they could very well be happy right where they are at!

Whatever the reason might be, you shouldn't spend your time and energy trying to convince anyone to become involved with your business. Because no one is worth your time until they've shown an interest in what you're offering

Now, you may already know someone who is the "perfect Melaleuca lead." You know this person can make the business happen and ultimately, your business will explode if you can ever get them to join your business. You know this person is available to work with you, knows a lot of people, has great entrepreneurial skills and would otherwise be wonderful to work with. But still, unless they want to take a look at your business, they're not worth spending any quality time on.

If you decide to approach your prospect this way, it shows them that you're the type of businessperson who isn't professional or successful enough to invest in some respectable marketing methods. You're advertising yourself and your business in a very amateur way. Again, this gets into the whole issue of all the negativity surrounding the industry, and why distributors aren't taken seriously by their prospects.

You have to allow your prospects the opportunity to find you first. It comes down to this one simple technique that will spur your business on to success. Stop chasing your prospects! Stop delivering sales pitches to people that don't want them! Stop doing all these things because it makes you and your business seem unprofessional and desperate. You have to develop ways to get your prospect to find you. When that happens, you become the expert and you'll have more successes in building your business.

It just doesn't make any sense to headhunt and force-feed prospects who aren't the least bit interested in what you have to offer. (Crazy as that may sound) There are lots of people in the world that want to start their own business, and the people you should be spending your time with are the ones who go out of their way looking for a way to do this.
