What To Sell On eBay

Deciding what to put up for auction on eBay is among the significant choices you will have to make. Considering there are in excess of 20,000 categories and sub-categories, your choices are almost limitless.

Most eBay marketers caught “the eBay bug” the same way. Early on, they started selling a few things around the home to make a little extra cash. Then, when they figured out what a snap it was to transform “dust collectors” into cash nothing flat, they began selling pretty much anything that they could.

This works great for a little while. Marketing disguarded items from your closet, or treasures that you find at garage sales is excellent training and can assist you to master the fundamentals of the internet auction business. However, you will not be able to make any big time cash by selling these kinds of “one off” products.

The most important part of making substantial money on eBay is to sell “cookie cutter” items which can be resold repeatedly. Your goal should be to find items that will be bought fast and for a substantial gain. You also want to discover items which can be sold in large quantities.

As soon as you find the best selling products on eBay which attract bids like bears to honey, the only thing you need to do is relist the articles each time you sell one. I like to call these “cookie cutter” items. You only have to do the work of setting up the eBay auction once. After that, you only have to click one button to relist the article and keep marketing it over and over again the same way. McDonald's, Macy's, Home Depot, Walmart and eBay Power Sellers all use this system.

Consumable items can be the most profitable moneymakers of all. After the first sale, the article will be consumed and your buyer will need to buy it again. With time, you can form a loyal customer base that will buy from you again and again, developing a residual revenue stream.

Finding top selling products to sell on eBay is like going fishing. If you desire to snag a boatload of fish, you first need to find out where the fish are hiding and what they are biting. If you fish in a pond with no fish, or if you use distasteful bait, you'll never snag any fish. The trick to catching all the fish you need is to cast the right bait into a lake full of hungry fish.

Likewise, you will never find out how to make money using eBay if you are trying to unload a product that nobody wants to a very small group of buyers. If you hope to make a truckload of money on eBay, the trick is to find a product that is in high demand and put it up for auction in the best category.
