Usually people do an error of covering the air holes during refilling inkjet cartridges. In some models the dispense of ink depends on the process of air being filled in the voids through the vents. The sealing of the holes causes failure in the printer. This may sometimes lead to unwanted results.
Sometimes the needle is pushed too far back into the cartridge. Though this be a mistake it can be of grave consequences. Now, when the ink is pumped in , there is creation of air pressure, which prevents the ink from entering the chamber which spreads the ink of the paper. Consequently the cartridge becomes messy and there is wastage of time as well as money and energy.

several cycles of cleaning are necessary. This decreases the efficiency of the printer leading to more wastage of ink.
Sometimes, over soaking of the cartridge leads to running of the ink, and inconsistency at printing. Color printing may reveal faded effect and quality degradation.
Refilling Printer Ink is cheap because it is worth the cheap price tag but in fact it is not worth the price of the printer. It is better to buy a new cartridge than use Refilling Printer Ink and risk the life of the printer.
