Who would have thought that window blinds made a long a way since its discovery in 1769 by Edward Beran, a British designer. Beran’s Venetian Blinds was a refashioned form of the Egyptian’s ancient blinds. Just like paint, blinds also give a new persona in every room or venue. In Canada, where people experience low temperatures almost half of the year, window blinds are necessary to shield them form the weather.

Ancient blinds are also useful in the early times, just like today. Before, desert dwellers are said to use wet garments to cover the windows of their huts or houses. Venetian blinds are basic slatted blinds made of metal or plastic; wooden slats are sometimes used but these are usually referred to as wood blinds or bamboo blinds.

Vertical blinds consist of slats of solidified fabric, plastic, or metal hanging by one end from a track; like the horizontal versions, the slats can be rotated 90 degrees to allow light to pass through or to fold up on one side of a door or window. Vertical blinds are very good at controlling how much natural or exterior light comes into a room, due to the ability of the slats to close tightly. It is because companies have higher walls compared to homes. It is also opted by interior designers because it elongates and widens office spaces.
