Yoga and Yeast Infection: a SURPRISING Connection

By: Linda Allen

Can a daily yoga session be beneficial for victims of yeast infection? Although the real link between yeast infection and yoga has not yet been fully stated, recent research on yoga pointed to interesting information on the subject, to indicate why yoga principles observed daily will likely be of advantage to victims of yeast infection.

It is the candida fungi, which cause yeast infection. These microbes are typically found in the human body where it is warm and moist. These places include the mouth, the throat, the intestines, and the genitals. Yeast infection is often called candidiasis for this reason. When candida is kept in check by friendly bacteria, then your health is not in danger. Nonetheless, Candida can accelerate to grow out of bounds in some situations. It then grows roots that tear into the gut walls to allow Candida to invade the blood circulation and start to cause symptoms of yeast infection all over the body.

There are a number of factors, which can result in Candida overgrowth. These factors include:

1. A weak immune system (perhaps because of the other health problems, bad eating, the use of antibiotics which in turn weaken the immune system) that cannot control the out break of Candida.

2. Overeating of foods that encourage Candida (sweets, caffeine, alcohol, refined carbohydrates and other similar foods).

3. Stress and / or a weak mental state that in turn debilitates the immune system and raises blood sugar levels which all go to encourage Candida overgrowth.

4. The toxins that can start to accumulate in the intestine and the blood thus preventing proper digestion. This also stresses the liver and makes it difficult for your body to carry out its normal defense processes against Candida.

As one of the oldest spiritual practices that puts the emphasis on conscious living and using one's inner potential for health that is both mental, physical and psychic, yoga may not have been created to heal Candida infections , but can help to eliminate a number of the basic conditions that cause this problem. For example, the techniques of relaxation will emphasize mental focus together with the correct breathing and physical positions. This can significantly and positively change levels of stress and reinforce the immune system.

The yoga philosophy also indicates fasting as a way of internal cleansing and eliminating toxins in the human organism. A digestive system that is clogged and slow moving together with toxins in the lymph and the blood are indeed primary factors making for Candida overgrowth. The first guideline concerning almost all western diseases is to get rid of toxic matter, get rid off mucus and to restore the natural process to eliminate these items. Until this step is taken, no real progress will be made.

The principles that the yoga philosophy also lays down concerning diets puts the emphasis on the need for balanced food and eating in a harmonious way regarding the needs and the composition of your body. Optimizing diets and proper food plans to enhance digestion is also of help in the combat against the yeast infection.

Note that practicing yoga is just one part of the total solution and is not a yeast infection cure by itself , even though the yoga principles and practices can be very advantageous to your overall health and your battle against Candida over multiplication. It is when the yoga principles are combined with additional alternative medicine programs, such as the intake of supplements based on herbs and vitamins, changes in diet, elimination of toxins and killing of Candida to restore the natural intestinal equilibrium .

Did you hear the news? The holistic approach which uses all natural principles is the only effective way to put to rights the inner situation that resulted in candidiasis and in this way to get back on to good health which will never again be compromised by yeast infections.
