Adding a touch of finesse to your photographic art After you've followed every possible instruction that you have found on the internet, and spent a fortune on the latest, state-of-the-art camera, you still find yourself dissatisfied with the results. You think that there could be plenty of ways your photograph could have looked a lot better, but don't know how to achieve it with your camera. What do you do? It is the answer to this very question that innumerable photographers, like you have looked for and found by simply editing their digital photographs. Today, this art has flourished to the point that there is barely a single photographer around the world who hasn't edited his photographs before using them. Although the effects seem to state quite the contrary, editing your photographs is a relatively simple task, once you've chosen the right software and explored all its possibilities. Check out these unique tips to help your editing Choosing photo-editing software can be difficult. Windows comes with rudimentary tools that will help you with your photos. But you'll need more if you plan on doing more than resizing and rotating photos. Also, cameras usually come with editing software. It's just that Photoshop users try Gimp, are immediately lost in the baroque interface, and leave in terror. Having the features doesn't do you much good if you can't find them! Select the Advance Blending option located at the right of the Photomerge window, then select Preview. Inconsistencies in color will be calculated by the program. At this point, the images will blend together. Photoshop will combine all the individual images for your panoramic into a single layer. If you select the Keep as Layers option it is easier to edit each image individually. This is a great help if one of the images is brighter or darker then the other images. You can select that image in layers and adjust the brightness for just that image. It is a good idea to save the layers as a .psd file so that you can always come back and correct any mistakes or make any changes later. It's a real pain to have to redo everything from scratch just if you made a mistake or want to change something later. You can also distort the pictures so that the scene will look like it is in perspective. Choose the Perspective option on the bottom of Settings. You can also do this by choosing Set Vanishing Point in the Photomerge window, then click to an area in the panorama. The special effects plug-ins are my favorite, because they can make a rather plain image into something fantastic. If the picture is slightly titled then the angle correction enhancement will help it out quite a bit. One thing the tool needs to have is anti-aliasing. Barrel and pincushion correction is used to fix slanted horizons that were caused by the camera being used to zoom up as far is could go. These enhancements are used mainly for generally annoying changes that some people wouldn't even notice unless it was dramatic, but are useful nonetheless.
