A glance at how Mauritius developed through the centuries of its existence
Mauritius is a volcanic island and was formed by a volcano called caldera a long time ago. As it was not yet discovered and given an official name, Mauritius stood uncivilized and a dense forest was all that could be seen. The forest contained wild animals such as tortoises, birds and the famous Dodo. The Dodo is now an extinct bird as it once served as meal for the Dutch people who visited Mauritius.

The maximum temperature that can prevail in Mauritius during the summer can reach around 33 degrees Celsius. As for winter, during the day, the temperature can read around 20 degrees Celsius while in the night it may reach approximately 15 degrees Celsius.

If you try to look for Mauritius on your world map, in most of the cases you may only see a tiny dot. But do not get fooled. Mauritius is one amongst the most well know islands in the world. When you talk about vacations in the sunshine accompanied by turquoise sea, or heavenly hotels with unmatchable service and extraordinary foods, Mauritius is one of the first islands that spring to mind.
